I finished this drawing a few months ago, but wanted to wait until the ~daikari-club contest was done until I submitted it.

This is a comic strip I drew based off the fanfic "The thorn princess' ocean" written by atami-san. She has written a ton of Daikari stories with lots of Taichi too..I love her stories ! Please visit her site "atuiumi" at [link] (sorry, written in Japanese)

We spent a long time translating this story together so we hope you like it!

"Hikari-chan, won't you go to the ocean with me?"
It began with those words from Daisuke-kun.

The ocean…the dark ocean…
Those words reminded me of the dark voice that called me.

Tears came to my eyes.
The ocean…Most of people imagine a blue, wide sea…but the image of my sea is different.

My ocean is a dark ocean…
It calls me…the ocean of darkness…
I surely can't go to the ocean Daisuke-kun imagines
And surely…I cannot go to Daisuke-kun's warm ocean.

I sensed an unpleasant feeling.
I remembered that ocean.

I start to lose consciousness…I 'm scared…
I'm called to the ocean.
I'm called to the darkness.

"Hikari-chan?"
"Daisuke-kun…I want to go to the beach…"

Surely by now I have a terrible face that looks like I'm going to cry.

"What's wrong!? Hikari-chan?"
"But, I can't go… the beach I can go to is dark, a scary place…"

Unpleasant feeling beach, dark beach…scary …beach…

" Hikari…chan…"
Daisuke-kun's voice…

"Hikari-chan."
The next moment, the beach's afterimage disappeared.

"We're going to the beach. Hikari-chan."
Daisuke-kun's smiling face was like the sun.

"Let's go to the beach. Hikari-chan."
He held out his hand.

"But…"

"It's alright. Let's go to the beach, Hikari-chan. The weather's fine today, let's take a box lunch, it's bright, the beach will be fun."

It'll be fun, Daisuke smiled.
Probably, if holding this hand, surely I can go…

"Ok."
I softly reached my own hand out for that hand.



The blue sky, the white clouds…the blue ocean…

"Cold―"
Daisuke-kun laughed.
His white sneaker and socks were already on the beach.

"Hikari-chan, come here!"
Daisuke-kun turned around and extended his hand.

It's okay, it's okay …

I took off my sandals, softly put my foot in the ocean.
The waves try to move me away.
I felt the sand under my feet.
I began to faint and Daisuke-kun reached out and grabbed my arm to stop me from falling.

"See, it's alright."
Daisuke-kun's smiling face.

" This feeling, I love it."
" Yes…it feels good,"
I murmured softly.

"Isn't it? "
I looked past Daisuke-kun's smiling face to the blue blue sky and the blue blue sea.

"Daisuke-kun…"
"What?" Daisuke-kun smiled.

"I can surely come to love the ocean."
"Yeah,"
Daisuke-kun laughed embarrassedly at my small murmuring,

"Visit the beach with me in summer again."
I put my hand within his hand.

"Yeah."
We walked on the beach.

Before I knew it, the blue sky had become sunset…
"I can surely come to love the beach…"
That murmur gently, softly erased the ocean's blue.
