inspired by the digimon 02 drama CD, "natsu e no tobira!" this is how i imagined the super-sad scene to look when Na-chan leaves Daisuke.. it's sort of in that non-reality, just-between-you-and-me world.. i drew this while listening to na-chan's "only lonely" song (it's a sad song!!)... thinking of a line she sings: "the instant i reached out my hand, he quietly disappeared" :,(
i wanted to make this drawing look like it could pass for an OVA or something (fat chance!).. so i kept the colors pretty sharp and the character designs true to the 02 movie. i also wanted Na-chan to look SOMETHING like hikari since daisuke seemed to have SOME kinda interest in na-chan.. but i got that strictly-friendship feeling out of the drama CD so instead of the cliche goodbye kiss, i kept it to a friendly hand-hold (and of course, handholding is mentioned in BOTH of their songs) |

Natsu-Chan: She only appeared in a CD drama, when Daisuke went to America to see Wallace & Mimi during the summer of '03. While she resembled a human, Natsu-chan (as Daisuke called her) seemed to be Digimon suffering much like Kokomon (in the form of madness-inducing digital-fireflies that infected V-mon & Terriermon as well). She wanted Daisuke as her partner even by killing V-mon. She died to protect Daisuke from herself. She was the only girl beside Hikari that Daisuke actually had feelings for.

That's a sad story for Davis and that girl. A beautiful pic with which is a lot sentimental and with a lot of meanings. Good job.

we've crossed the point of no return . . .
i once attemped a doujinshi of this too... but i just got so darn lazy! and i couldn't think of a digimon version of na-chan... i imagined na-chan to resemble hikari a little bit because i'm such a daisuke/hikari fan... and considering that SOMETHING happened between daisuke and hikari before this drama cd takes place (at least that's what it sounds like from daisuke and v-mon), then i'd like to think that if daisuke were ever to develop such concerned feelings for another girl, then she's gotta at least remind him of hikari. ^_^

haha, although i've fallen into the lazyness thing with the doujin too. i did sketches and everything but i too couldn't think of a design for na-chan as a digimon. XD;; although i included a bell in her outfit (since you hear one right before she talks to daisuke), and did a short little textless epilogue where they find her partner (since she deserved some justice D:!).
